Whilst the kitchen and bathroom have different purposes in the home, much of the basic decorating will be very similar. • Create a feature wall using tiles of a different colour. Choose the perfect spot for it and decide on the colourful tiles you want to use.
• Have a stand-out sink as the focal point of the room. Belfast sinks, glass bowls and large, oversized bowls are all popular options.
• Choose a stylish mirror to enhance natural light. Find a design that complements the rest of the room as well.
• Select cabinets that represent your desired aesthetic. Some will be more traditional, like shaker units, whereas modern rooms often make use of high gloss cabinetry.
• Search for handles that will match the rest of the room. For example, if other parts of the room such as light switches or tile edging have a matte chrome finish, choose matte chrome handles to match.
• Use a shiny, modern tile trim to give the tiles a professional finish.
